Logan City Council

Why No Republicans?

We find it interesting that in a predominantly Republican city, Logan has NO Republicans on the City Council or Mayor's office. This is one party rule and that's never good no matter which party.

Currently there are two candidates running who are Conservative.
We urge you to vote for somewhat of a balance as Logan needs to step away from the "Tax and Spend" mentality.

New Groups

It's interesting that new groups continually come out of the woodworks and claim to be interested in Republican Values.
Such is a new group calling themselves Cache County Republican Veterans Caucus. See News Clip.
This group is nothing more than another attempt to circumvent the established policy of the Cache Republican Party. The group is made up of members who have lost elections and were unable to force their will on others through the normal process so they are trying a new tactic. They use "Veterans" in their name hoping that will gain some traction. It's merely a tactic.

Cache County Convention Heating Up

It now appears that another group of ousted Republicans are again stirring the pot and spreading false rumors about the current Cache Party officers. They are careful to not put these claim in writing as that would have consequences but none the less, the claims are out there.
Just below we highlight some of the underhanded things this group is doing. If you are comfortable with a group that is trying to hijack the Cache Republican Party, then go for it.

Current Disrupters

We will list them here as they are discovered.

Andrew Badger

Mr. Bader ran for the U.S. House First Congressional District in 2022, did manage to make an impression at the State Convention because of his charm, but failed to secure the Republican nomination in the Primary Election. Since then he's been upset and realizes he can't win in the normal election process so he's trying to start his own division of the Cache Republican Party.
During his campaign he directly called the sitting members of the Cache Republican Party "Communist" because he couldn't force his will upon them.
They had a "Meet the Candidates" forum and were selective on who they invited and NONE of the current county party officers or candidates were invited. Party leadership issued a statement that their meeting was unsanctioned by the Cache Republican Party.
Our opinion: A Sore looser not willing to accept the will of the people so he's trying to disrupt the party and change the rules to gain control.

Kim Hamblin, Candidate for Cache Party Chair. She is part of the Andrew Badger group and another mud slinger. She has ZERO experience and literally no clue as to how the Cache Republican Party runs with no knowledge of the bylaws that govern the party. You can't just come in and try to change everything, nor does name calling work.
Our opinion: Electing someone with no knowledge as to how things run would be a mistake, sort of like what we have now with President Biden. That's working out great, right?

Jana Atkinson

Candidate for Northeast District.
Our problem with Jana is she is associated with the Andrew Badger group and is spreading misinformation about her opponent, Leslie Carpenter, who is truly incredible. Leslie does a LOT for the County party AND the State party. She is a true assett and must be re-elected to the Chair of the N.E. District.
Our opinion: Jana has ZERO experience and is running a negative campaign because she has no record to cite. Electing her would be a mistake as this would cause friction with the other six chairs, but it would seem that's what this group wants...friction.

Disrupters

We've seen this before but this time it's at the County Level. Here are the Facts.

The three folks mentioned just above have been going out of their way to take over the party.

A Message was sent to ONLY Select delegates inviting them to a meet-and-greet but NONE of the current officers or directors were invited or even notified. We have been told that Dr. Mayer, a Candidate and Delegate, was purposely not included, and especially none of the current officers seeking re-election that were opposed were invited.

Dr. Mayer, who ran for State Sentral committee and was un-opposed for District #3 Chair, was not invited because he's a current Chair and had a candidate for SCC running against him backed by this group.
Neither Shellie Giddings nor Leslie Carpenter were invited because they had opponents backed by this Rino group.

Other Stories

Below are other stories of interest.

Keegan Garrity has become the driving force of an initiative to create voting districts in Logan and is working to obtain the 2,000 signatures necessary to put the issue on the ballot by Nov. 15.

Our Opinion:  It's about Time!
Unfortunately this did not happen.
